Frequently Asked Questions
- How should I regularly clean and maintain my espresso machine?
- The maintenance of your espresso machine is very important to ensure it´s long life. Here are a few tips:
- After each time you have heated your milk, make sure you wipe the wand clean of milk residue. This will stop any residue building up on the wand.
- It is also very important to open the steam valve fully; this will clean out any milk residue from inside the wand and stop any bacteria buliding up contaminating the tank.
- Another tip is to regularly clean and maintain the group head. By using the group head cleaning brush whist running water through the head you will clean out any coffee residue. This helps to keep the seal smooth and supple. The specially designed “fins” on the handle of the brush will divert hot water away from your hand.
- Regular cleaning of your water tank and pipes will make sure that your espresso machine is free of contaminates and also make sure that the pipes and valves remain clear and clean. We recommend the Clean Machine range of products which are totally organic and completely safe to use on your machine. A full range is available on-line.
- Why are the used coffee grinds in the group handle sometimes too hard to knock out or too wet and sloppy?
- This is due to the grinds being to coarse or ground to fine for your machine. Perfectly ground beans should knock out easily and should come out as a solid “cake” and leave the group handle almost clean.
